"Seattle-based duo, Figg recorded their debut album ten years ago and never released it. This year, it finally saw the light of day back in July. Left off the album was a cover of Brian Eno‘s “Needle In The Camel’s Eye.” Surviving the Golden Age is excited to premiere it.

“Sometimes there’s more levity in the process of recording a cover than doing one of your own,” says Gilden Tunador. “You’re dancing in the shoes of a master songwriter — it’s emblazoned in your mind from countless listens and you can relax a bit and have fun.”

The fun comes across in the cover that keeps the same energy as the original but adds little unique flares like a xylophone melody and wobbly lead guitar. Tunador’s vocals lead the way while multi-instrumentalist Robin Peringer pounds it out on drums and adds like “bah bah bah” backing vocals. It ends up giving Eno’s 1973 classic a twee update."
